Protecting your account

You can add extra protection to your Lyft account in the Lyft app’s Security Center. There, you can manage your active devices, and add biometric authentication measures like Touch ID and Face ID (for iOS users).
Managing active devices
To manage the active devices your Lyft account is signed in to, visit Device Management in the Security Center in the Lyft app by following these steps:
  1. Tap the side menu.
  2. Tap ‘Settings.’
  3. Tap ‘Security Center.’
  4. Tap ‘Device management.’
In the Security Center, you may view details about your active devices, and select any you wish to sign out of.
Adding biometric authentication
You can add extra security to your Lyft account by enabling two-factor authentication. You can use the Biometrics feature to add your fingerprint or add Face ID (for iOS users). These features are always optional.
Enabling Touch ID and Face ID
To enable Touch ID or Face ID:
  1. Tap ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap ‘Security Center.’
  3. Tap ‘Set up Face ID/Touch ID.’
  4. Allow access when prompted.
You may be prompted to enable Face ID or Touch ID when you add or edit Payment options. This is completely optional.
Please note that the type of authentication you can add will vary depending on your device. Touch ID and Face ID are not available for all users. Availability varies depending on your device’s operating system and manufacturer.
