To empower deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers, Lyft offers a hearing accessibility feature.
The hard-of-hearing feature sends passengers a text message notifying them their driver is deaf or hard of hearing with instructions to use texts not phone calls if they need to reach out. Drivers with Amp will also see new ride messages when they receive requests.
To opt in or out of sending hard-of-hearing notifications:
- Open the Lyft Driver app, then tap your profile photo in the top left corner
- Tap 'Settings'
- Tap 'Accessibility'
- Toggle 'Notify Passengers' mode
- Tap 'Confirm.' That's it!
