Phone Software Recommendations and Settings

We want your experience with Lyft to be the best possible, and making sure the app runs smoothly is key. Here's the low-down on operating system (OS) requirements needed to support the latest features and updates.

Phone OS requirements

Passengers: iOS 9 and Android 6 or better are necessary for smooth operation of the Lyft app. While earlier versions may be used, these versions may not provide the best experience. Check your operating system to be sure it's updated.

If you're your phone won't or can't upgrade to the latest operating system, don't worry. You can still request a Lyft using your mobile browser.

Drivers: If you're driving with Lyft, use iOS 10 and Android 7. Older OS software may interfere with your ability to give and receive rides.
