Prime Time amounts vary based on the number of drivers compared to the number of ride requests.
When demand for rides is more than the number of drivers on the road, passengers may pay an extra percentage on top of the base ride amount. For example, if Prime Time is 50%, a ride that is $6 without Prime Time would become $9.
Prime Time only adds a percentage to the ride subtotal, which is calculated before the Service Fee, taxes and airport fees, or other additional amounts. For Line, Prime Time is calculated based on the first passenger picked up.
Drivers are notified when Prime Time is in effect for ride in the app when the ride is requested. The post-ride earnings screen is best way to know whether a ride was Prime Time.
Guaranteed Prime Time is a way for drivers to boost earnings while providing safe, reliable rides for passengers during the busiest times.
For major holidays, promotions, or events in certain markets, drivers may be notified about guaranteed Prime Time as a text message or email from us. During guaranteed Prime Time, rides include Prime Time earnings at or above the promotional amount.
Heat Maps let you see where you're needed most. The app displays the areas of highest demand in real time. Shaded sections show where Prime Time is in effect. Whether you're online or offline, you can see Heat Maps in the Driver Console.
Heads up: Prime Time is calculated using the location of passengers when make a ride request. That means even if you're waiting in a shaded area, the ride requests you see may not be affected by Prime Time.
