Michigan vehicle inspection
If you’re applying to be a driver in Detroit, your driver application will direct you to visit one of our office locations. Once there, you'll receive an on-site vehicle inspection or be directed to see a mechanic for one. Our staff will guide you through the process.
If you've received a message from Lyft informing you of the need to have your vehicle inspected, or if you’re applying to drive anywhere else in Michigan, follow these steps:
Visita uno de los lugares de inspección indicados aquí. Upload a photo of the completed form in the Dashboard.
Note: existing Michigan drivers are only required to have annual inspections if the vehicle is 5 years or older. Follow the instructions above to have your vehicle inspected.
Check this map for a convenient location so you can get your annual vehicle inspection updated, and stay active on the Lyft platform. We recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment with the mechanic you're planning to visit; please note fees may apply.
Drivers are required to display the Lyft emblem while in driver mode. The Lyft emblem is Lyft’s official trade dress. It helps passengers and law enforcement identify your vehicle.
El emblema de Lyft debe estar en la esquina inferior del parabrisas delantero del lado pasajero cada vez que ingreses al modo de conductor. Asegúrate de quitar el emblema cuando no estés en el modo de conductor.
If you’ve just been approved to drive, you should receive your Lyft emblem shortly. If you didn't get one or need a new one, order one in your Dashboard. While waiting for it to arrive, you may print a temporary emblem.
