Driver referral bonuses

If you refer someone to drive with Lyft, you can be eligible for a bonus. The referred applicant can be eligible for an Earnings Guarantee.
This bonus is only available in select areas. Bonus/guarantee amounts also vary by region.

If you’re a driver referring someone new
If you are already a driver and you’re referring someone new, you can go to the Driver Referrals tab in your Dashboard to see:
  1. Your referral bonus amounts.
  2. Who’s used your code.
  3. Your referral’s progress.
How to refer a new driver
You can refer new drivers in the app or through your Dashboard.
From the app:
  1. Open the app menu and tap ‘More ways to earn.’
  2. Tap ‘Refer a driver.’
  3. Text or email your referral code to your friends.
  4. Your driver referral code must be added when your referred applicants first apply. They can’t add it later.
From the Dashboard:
  1. Open the Dashboard.
  2. In the Dashboard menu, tap ‘Driver Referrals.’
  3. Send invitations via email or social media.
If you’re a new applicant with a referral code
Referred applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible to earn the guarantee:
  1. Applicants must add the referral code when they first apply. It can’t be added later.
  2. Applicants must give first ride within the outlined days after starting application.
  3. Applicants must complete a set number of rides in the required time frame. No more than two rides with the same passenger count toward the ride requirement.
Bonus payouts
Depending on the promotion, bonus payments are added to your payouts as either a single amount or on a per-ride basis.
For single-amount payments:
  1. You and the referred applicant are notified by email after the referred applicant has completed the requirements.
  2. Allow 1-2 pay cycles for the full bonus amount to appear in your payout.
For per-ride payments: 
  1. Bonus amounts are added to both your payout and your referred applicant’s payout with each ride they complete. This will continue until the expiration or maximum bonus amount is reached.
  2. Use the 'Earnings' tab to see if your referral bonus is added to your payouts on a per-ride basis.
For Earnings Guarantees:
  1. Your referral must complete the ride requirements of the Earnings Guarantee for you to receive the referral bonus.
  2. You’ll be notified by email after the referred applicant has completed the requirements.
  3. Please allow 1-2 pay cycles for the full bonus amount to appear in your payout.
Terms
  1. Participation in this promotion is subject to Lyft's Terms of Service. The duration of the review process may vary.
  2. Drivers cannot earn referral bonuses for referring themselves. Driver eligibility and approval are determined at the sole discretion of Lyft and aren't guaranteed. Referral bonus promotions cannot be combined with new driver sign-on promos.
  3. We may share information concerning a referred applicant's eligibility, progress, or qualification for a referral bonus with the referring driver.
  4. 奖金金额（如有）可能会因推荐司机以及被推荐申请者所在地区而有所不同。我们不保证同一区域的所有推荐司机或被推荐申请者都会收到相同奖金金额或行程要求。
  5. Eligible drivers cannot also receive a new driver bonus. Only one code can be used upon applying to drive with Lyft. This promotion runs for a limited time only and may be suspended or ended  at Lyft’s discretion.
  6. The amount of the guarantee varies by city and time of application. Amount may be changed at Lyft’s discretion. No more than two rides given to the same passenger count toward your ride requirements.
  7. 被推荐申请者可能会收到来自推荐司机的关于奖金要求的通信内容。Lyft 无法控制这些通信内容，因此不对通信中可能包含的任何不准确之处负责。
  8. If an applicant previously applied to drive but never completed their application, they are only eligible for the referral amount, if any, associated with the original application.
  9. The applicant won't be eligible for any other referral amount. If the previous referral promotion expires, the applicant won't be eligible for a referral bonus.
