Proof of work eligibility
You must upload one of the following documents as proof of work eligibility (must contain your name, and can be any of the following):
Driver training
All Québec drivers need to complete a training issued by the Minister of Transportation and pass its exam. The exam requires that you can understand, speak, and read French and score at least 75% to pass.
Learn more about how to enroll in the training with:
Drivers will receive a certification once they pass the exam and will need to upload it in their Driver app. If you already completed the training in the past, you don't need to complete it again.
Daily pre-drive vehicle inspection
Before taking their first Lyft trip of the day, drivers need to perform a basic inspection of the vehicle they use to provide such trips, pursuant to section 55 of the Act. To complete a daily pre-drive vehicle inspection, go online in your Driver app and certify that there are no defects.
Once completed, a copy of the attestation will be emailed to you. While serving trips on the Lyft platform, drivers will need to have this attestation confirming that they conducted an inspection in case law enforcement officials request it.
Learn more about the daily pre-drive vehicle inspection here.
Emblem requirements
Drivers are required to display the Lyft emblem while in driver mode. The Lyft emblem is Lyft’s official trade dress. It helps passengers and law enforcement identify your vehicle.
The Lyft emblem should be displayed in the lower corner of your front and rear windshield on the passenger side every time you enter driver mode.

If you’ve just been approved to drive, you should receive your Lyft emblems shortly. If you didn't get one or need a new one, contact us. In the meantime, you may print a temporary emblem.
The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) will also provide drivers with a required vehicle accessory that confirms that the vehicle is allowed to operate on the TNC’s platform. This accessory needs to be displayed on your vehicle before your first ride.
Check your SAAQ account to print a temporary copy while you await your physical accessory to be mailed to you.
Note: If you already drive with another TNC and have an accessory, SAAQ will not send a new one.
