How to become an XL or XXL driver

If your eligible vehicle seats six or more passengers, you can unlock higher-paying XL rides. With additional trunk space, you may also qualify for XXL rides, which lets you earn even more.
Note: XXL rides are only eligible in select regions at this time.
You can check your city’s rate card in your Dashboard under the 'Account' tab in the app.

Becoming an XL driver
To get started on becoming an XL driver, see the list of eligible vehicles.
To qualify, your vehicle must seat six passengers, have seven seatbelts, and be on our approved vehicle list.
You can opt in to receive XL rides two different ways. You can either:
  1. Open the main menu, then tap 'Vehicles and Devices.'
  2. Tap 'Your Vehicles.'
  3. Tap 'See details' on your active vehicle.
  4. Select the ride types you want.
Becoming an XXL driver
To get started on becoming an XXL driver, see the list of eligible vehicles.
Your vehicle needs to seat at least six passengers, have seven+ seatbelts, and offer more than 27 cubic feet of trunk space.
Note: XXL is only available in select regions.
You can opt in to receive XXL rides by following these steps:
  1. Open the main menu, then tap 'Vehicles and Devices.'
  2. Tap 'Your Vehicles.'
  3. Tap 'See details' on your active vehicle.
  4. Select the ride types you want.
Ride Safety
You should never drive a group of passengers whose group exceeds the number of seat belts in your vehicle.
Here’s how to cancel a ride with too many passengers:
  1. Tap the arrow in the top right corner of your app.
  2. Tap ‘Cancel.’
  3. Tap ‘Too many passengers.’
