We have high safety standards for vehicles on the Lyft platform, which include meeting any city or province requirements.
Taxis and stretch limousines are not allowed on the Lyft platform.
We are no longer accepting many subcompact vehicles.
In Canada, vehicles are required to be from 2011 or newer.
Doors and seatbelts
All Lyft vehicles are required to have 4 doors and a minimum of 5 seatbelts (including the driver's).
To provide a comfortable rider experience, certain subcompact vehicles are not eligible on the Lyft platform as of February 25, 2019. Subcompact vehicles typically have an interior combined passenger and cargo volume index of less than 100 cubic feet, which makes for a tight space for passengers.
