Scheduled rides for riders

You can plan ahead by scheduling a ride up to 90 days ahead of time. When you schedule a ride, you’ll specify your pickup time. We’ll send you a reminder before your pickup.
Note: If the 'Schedule' option isn't available in the app, scheduled rides may not be offered in your area.

Scheduling a ride
To schedule a ride:
  1. Set your destination, then tap the ‘Schedule’ calendar icon on the ride type selection screen.
  2. Choose a date and time, then tap 'Next.'
You can also:
  1. Go to your Lyft app home screen and tap the calendar icon next to the address search bar.
  2. Choose a date and time, then tap 'Next.’
  3. Set your destination, then tap ‘Schedule.’
To schedule a ride for others:
  1. Select ‘Scheduled ahead’
  2. Tap 'Change rider' at the top of the screen
  3. Select a rider from your contact list
  4. Set the rider’s destination
  5. Choose a date and time
  6. The rider will be notified about the scheduled ride
Note: Driver availability may vary in your area during your scheduled pickup window.
Editing or cancelling a scheduled ride
To edit or cancel a scheduled ride:
  1. Tap the ‘Trip’ navigation bar at the bottom of the home screen.
  2. Tap ‘Details’ under the scheduled ride you want to cancel or edit.
You can cancel or edit your ride up to 1 hour before pickup.  A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel within 1 hour of pickup.
Note: Cancellation fees for scheduled rides are subject to change and vary by ride type.
Lyft’s normal cancellation policy may apply if:
  • You cancel the ride after a driver has been matched.
  • The driver is on their way to pick you up.
  • The driver is scheduled to arrive within the designated pickup time.
On-time pickup promise
If you're not picked up on time for a scheduled ride to the airport, you'll automatically receive Lyft Credits.
  • Get $15 Lyft Credits automatically if your driver hasn't arrived 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time.
  • Get $50 Lyft Credits automatically if you’re not matched with a driver 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time.
  • Get up to $50 more Lyft Credits if you're not matched with a driver and need to use another transportation service.
You can find your Lyft Credits in the Payments tab of your app.
Keep in mind:
  • Scheduled rides for airport pickups are excluded from this offer.
  • Starting December 15th 2025, whether you book a ride for yourself or another rider, the Lyft Credits will be issued to you.
To receive the Lyft Credits, you must:
  • Be in a region where the on-time pickup promise is available.
  • Be the person who requested the ride
  • Not make any changes to your ride less than 1 hour before pickup.
My driver was late
If your driver arrives more than 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time, you'll automatically receive $15 in Lyft Credits.
You can find your Lyft Credits in the Payments tab of your app.
You can use Lyft Credits for any future ride.
I wasn't matched with a driver
If you still weren’t matched with a driver 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time, you’ll automatically receive $50 of Lyft Credits.

You can use Lyft Credits for any future ride.
I had to take alternate transportation
If you had to take alternate transportation that’s more than $50, you’re eligible to receive another Lyft Credits of up to $50.
Note: You’ll receive an additional credit for the portion of your alternate transportation that’s over $50. For example, if your alternate transportation cost $75, you’d receive $25 in additional Lyft Credits. You’d have a total of $75 in Lyft Credits.
To receive additional Lyft Credits:
  1. Tap ‘Contact us’ below.
  2. Submit the receipt for your alternate transportation.
Note: The maximum additional credit is $50.
To be eligible for the additional Lyft Credits, you must:
  • Take alternate transportation to the same airport on the same day after you cancel your Lyft ride.
  • Submit your receipt within 14 days.

Terms
Our on-time pickup promise applies to scheduled rides to approved airport destinations in select regions, and excludes airport pickups and rides with additional stops. This applies whether you're scheduling a ride for yourself or for someone else. If you schedule the ride for someone else, you will receive the credit.
You’ll need to have completed at least 1 ride since opening your Lyft account. You’ll receive a notification in the Lyft app or via text message when your driver is approaching. The Lyft Terms of Service apply.
You can receive Lyft Credits for a maximum of 1 ride in a week and 2 rides in 30 days. The Lyft Cash Terms and Conditions apply.

You can schedule a pickup at an eligible airport up to 90 days in advance based on your flight information.
Scheduled an airport pickup
To schedule an airport pickup:
  1. Enter in the airport you’re being picked up at.
  2. Enter your destination.
  3. Select “Schedule now.”
  4. Enter in your flight number and arrival date then select your flight. Your pickup time will be based on your flight information.
  5. Select your preferred ride type then select “Schedule.”
If you see “No results” when searching for your flight, it may be too soon or too far out. Try again closer to the flight time.
How scheduled airport pickups work
After booking your scheduled airport pickup, you can view your upcoming ride details in the Lyft app.
If your flight time changes, your scheduled airport pickup will be updated accordingly based on your flight information.
Upon airport arrival, you'll receive a notification to head to the pickup spot. Once there, you'll be prompted to let your driver know you’re ready for pickup. Be sure to confirm your final pickup spot by following the prompts, if applicable.
Your airport pickup will be reserved for 45 minutes after landing for standard rides (60 minutes for Black rides).
Note: After booking a scheduled airport pickup, you cannot add stops or adjust your destination.
Editing or cancelling a scheduled airport pickup
For scheduled airport pickups, you can cancel your ride up to 1 hour before pickup. A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel within 1 hour of pickup.
After booking a scheduled airport pickup, you cannot add stops or adjust your destination. To make changes, cancel your current ride and schedule a new one.
