What coverages are provided?
Below are the coverages included in our insurance policies (policy limits vary based on the period of a ride):
Automobile Liability Coverage
Our liability coverage is designed to act as the primary coverage during the time the Lyft Driver app is on and available to accept a ride request (also known as “driver mode”) until the ride has ended in the app.
The policy provides coverage for your liabilities for bodily injuries or losses that others may suffer in the event of an accident. The policy limits vary based on the period of a ride.
Statutory Accident Benefits Coverage
This provides Accident Benefits that you are entitled to receive if you are injured in an accident, regardless of who caused the accident.
Uninsured Automobile Coverage
In the event of an accident with a driver who is uninsured or underinsured and is ultimately at fault for bodily injury caused to you and/or your passengers, our Uninsured coverage will apply.
Direct Compensation - Property Damage Coverage
This provides coverage for repairs to your vehicle and related expenses in the event of an accident for which a third party is responsible. The coverage will apply up to the actual cash value of your vehicle or cost of repair, whichever is less, subject to your degree of responsibility.
Contingent Comprehensive & Collision Coverage
Our contingent comprehensive and collision coverage is designed to cover physical damage to your vehicle resulting from a non-collision event (vandalism, natural disaster, etc.) or accident as long as you have obtained the coverages on your personal automobile policy. The coverage will apply up to the actual cash value of your vehicle or cost of repair, whichever is less. The policy has a $2,500 deductible.
