Taxi rides with Curb
You can take a Lyft ride in a Taxi vehicle at no additional cost. These rides will function the same as Standard, Wait & Save, and Priority Pickup rides.

Eligibility for taxi rides
You’re eligible to be matched with a taxi ride in Los Angeles if you meet the following requirements:
- Your Lyft app is up to date (v2025.43 Version).
- You’ve taken 3 or more previous Lyft rides on your account.
Opting in and out of taxi rides
You can opt in or out of taxi rides by following the steps below:
- Go to your profile.
- Under ‘Ride settings’ select ‘Taxis.’
- Choose whether to allow taxis to pick you up.
If you decline a taxi ride and select the ‘Don’t want a taxi’ cancellation reason, you’ll automatically be opted-out of receiving taxi rides. You can also opt back in to taxi rides at any time.
Identifying Curb Taxi vehicles
Verify the licence plate number to make sure that you’re matched with the correct taxi vehicle. You’ll also see a Curb logo displayed on most Curb Taxi vehicles.
While some Curb vehicles are multi-coloured, you’ll only see a single colour displayed in the Lyft app.
