To ensure a smooth airport experience for you and your passengers, make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules below. Tap each link to jump to detailed instructions on each section:
The following information applies to all airports:

Lyft emblem

  1. Do not stop or pull over in crosswalks.
  2. Do not park in red zones or taxi/shuttle areas unless otherwise specified in the rules above.
  3. Always follow instructions given by airport personnel.

Permitted Airports
Drivers on the Lyft platform are responsible for knowing and following all airport regulations in order to avoid receiving administrative citations from the airport. Lyft is available at the following airports in Florida:
Daytona Beach Airport (DAB)

Waiting for requests:

Pickups:
  1. Pick up passengers from Arrivals, at your passenger’s carrier of choice.

  3. You may be asked to pay a $5 operating fee for picking up or dropping off at the airport. If so, send us your receipt and we will reimburse you.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a citation and suspension from rideshare at the airport.
Waiting for requests:
  1. DO NOT
    1. Wait anywhere but in the designated staging areas pictured above. Drivers outside the designated staging area will not be added to the queue.
      1. You may see multiple airport staging lots in the app. You can choose any available lots and it won't affect your place in the queue. The app will show how many drivers are waiting in each staging lot.
    2. Wait in parking spots not designated for Lyft drivers. The airport needs to leave spaces open for other patrons to wait for their pickups.
    3. Exit the staging area or log out of driver mode, as you will lose your spot in the queue. The queue is first in-first out and the driver who has been waiting within the staging area in driver mode the longest gets the next request. Your physical location within the staging area does not affect your spot in the queue.
    4. Enter the staging area or airport property without Lyft decals on both the front and back of your vehicle.
    5. Remain on airport property if the staging area is full. You may not wait for requests anywhere else on airport property and you may NOT double park in the staging lot when at capacity. Violators will be issued a citation.
    6. Cancel or miss rider requests, as they will affect your place in line. You can miss or decline up to 3 rides before getting placed at the back of the queue. To learn how to view your place in the driver queue follow this link.
  2. DO
    1. Wait in one of the 15 designated parking spots in the staging lot pictured above. If the designated spots are full, overflow staging should occur along Airport Terminal Access Road. Only drivers within the designated staging area are added to the queue.
    2. Head back to the staging area if a passenger cancels on you. Passenger cancellations will not affect your place in the queue. As long as you're back within 15 minutes, you'll be placed at the front of the queue.
    3. Follow instructions from Airport Security personnel and do not attempt to evade personnel if a citation is being issued.
    4. Ensure Lyft decals are placed on both the front and back of your vehicle.
Pickups:
  1. DO NOT
    1. Pick up passengers from the main terminals.
    2. Wait for your passenger curbside if a passenger is delayed as it may result in a citation. Airport security does not allow drivers to wait curbside longer than a minute for delayed passengers. If your passenger is delayed, please wait in the staging lot until your passenger is ready to be picked up.
    3. Recirculate or wait in the terminal area for a rematch, as airport authorities may issue citations. Rematch is a feature that enables you to be matched with additional passengers shortly before or after completing a drop off. This means you can receive a ride request shortly after dropping off a passenger without returning to the assignment area.
    4. Wait for ride requests anywhere but in the designated staging lot. Soliciting is not permitted on airport property and may result in a ban from our platform as well as the airport.
  2. DO
    1. Pick up passengers curbside at the terminal in front of the baggage claim.
    2. Make sure you have both gone to the pin's location and are at the correct level and terminal of the airport, if you’re having trouble finding your passenger. The Lyft app moves the passenger's pin to an approved pickup area, which should help mitigate any issues locating each other.
    3. Short ride bump: If you receive a request for a short ride from the airport after waiting in the queue, you may qualify for a higher queue position after you drop off your passenger. You'll receive a message after dropping off to let you know you have the option to return to the staging area for a preferred spot in the queue. Please note, if you give a ride before returning to the staging area, you may still qualify for a preferred spot in line.
Drop-offs:

    1. Wait at the airport terminal after drop-off or accept additional ride requests after drop-off. If you'd like to accept additional airport requests, proceed to the staging area to avoid citations.

    2. Make sure you have both gone to the pin's location and are at the correct level and terminal of the airport if you’re having trouble finding your passenger. The Lyft app moves the passenger's pin to an approved pickup area, which should help mitigate any issues locating each other.
    3. Pre-dispatch: While waiting for requests, you may receive an SMS and an in-app note directing you to head toward the terminal. While en route, you should receive a ride request. If you do not, head back to the staging area. As long as you're back within 15 minutes, you'll be placed at the front of the queue. More information on pre-dispatch can be found here.
    4. Short ride bump: If you receive a request for a short ride from the airport after waiting in the queue, you may qualify for a higher queue position after you drop off your passenger. You'll receive a message after dropping off to let you know you have the option to return to the staging area for a preferred spot in the queue. Please note, if you give a ride before returning to the staging area, you may still qualify for a preferred spot in line.
    5. Rematch is a feature that enables you to be matched with additional passengers shortly before or after completing a drop off. This means you can receive a ride request shortly after dropping off a passenger without returning to the assignment area. Waiting for requests:
  1. DO...
    1. Head back to the staging area if a passenger cancels on you. Passenger cancellations will not affect your place in the queue. As long as you're back within 15 minutes, you'll be placed at the front of the queue.

    1. Wait anywhere but in the designated staging area pictured above. Drivers outside the designated staging area will not be added to the queue. TNC drivers will only be added to the queue once they are in the designated rideshare TNC staging area.
    2. Exit the staging area or log out of driver mode, you will lose your spot in the queue. The queue is first in-first out. Your physical location within the staging area does not affect your spot in the queue.
    3. Cancel or miss rider requests, as they will affect your place in line. You can miss or decline up to 3 rides before getting placed at the back of the queue. To learn how to view your place in the driver queue follow this link.
    4. Litter in the airport staging lot, under any circumstances. If drivers are found to be littering and vandalizing the staging lot area, they will be banned from airport property.
    5. Loiter in the staging lot. Drivers in the staging lot should have their Lyft app on and in the queue. If you do not intend to give rides at the airport, please exit the lot.
    6. Feed any wildlife in or around the staging area.
    7. Enter the staging area nightly from 1:30am - 3:30am, as it will be closed. Please leave the staging lot during this time. Rides will be dispatched by proximity during this time.
Pickups:
  1. DO...
    1. Pick up passengers from Arrivals (lower level). The Lyft app moves the passenger's pin to an approved pickup area. If you're having trouble finding each other, make sure you have both gone to the pin's location and are on the correct level of the airport.

    3. Enter the designated pickup area unless you are picking up a passenger, as this area is active loading only and those found parking here will be issued a citation.
    4. Circle the airport or wait in the terminal area for a rematch ride, as airport authorities may issue citations. Rematch is a feature that enables you to be matched with additional passengers shortly before or after completing a drop off. This means you can receive a ride request shortly after dropping off a passenger without returning to the assignment area.
    5. Wait for ride requests anywhere except the designated staging lot. Soliciting is not permitted on airport property and may result in a ban from our platform as well as the airport.

Waiting for requests:

Waiting for requests:
  1. Wait in the designated staging area pictured above. Only drivers within the designated staging area are added to the queue.

Pickups:
  1. Pick up passengers from the designated area marked as “Ride Share” on the Baggage Claim level.
    1. The Lyft app moves the passenger's pin to an approved pickup area. If you're having trouble finding each other, make sure you have both gone to the pin's location and are on the correct level of the airport.
  2. Do not pick up passengers at the curbside terminal entrance.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a citation and/or suspension from rideshare at the airport.
Waiting for requests:
  1. DO...
    1. Head back to the staging area if a passenger cancels on you. Passenger cancellations will not affect your place in the queue. As long as you're back within 15 minutes, you'll be placed at the front of the queue.
    2. Follow instructions from Airport Security personnel and do not attempt to evade personnel if a citation is being issued.
    3. Ensure Lyft decals are placed on both the front and back of your vehicle and your airport placard is clearly visible on your rearview mirror.
  2. DO NOT...
    1. Wait anywhere but in the designated staging area pictured above. Drivers outside the designated staging area will not be added to the queue. TNC drivers will only be added to the queue once they are in the designated rideshare TNC staging area.
    2. Exit the staging area or log out of driver mode, you will lose your spot in the queue. The queue is first in-first out. Your physical location within the staging area does not affect your spot in the queue.
    3. Cancel or miss rider requests, as they will affect your place in line. You can miss or decline up to 3 rides before getting placed at the back of the queue. To learn how to view your place in the driver queue follow this link.
    4. Smoke anywhere in the airport staging lot as it may result in a citation.

    3. Enter the designated pickup area unless you are picking up a passenger, as this area is active loading only and those found parking here will be issued a citation.
    4. Circle the airport or wait in the terminal area for a rematch ride, as airport authorities may issue citations. Rematch is a feature that enables you to be matched with additional passengers shortly before or after completing a drop off. This means you can receive a ride request shortly after dropping off a passenger without returning to the assignment area.
    5. Wait for ride requests anywhere except the designated staging lot. Soliciting is not permitted on airport property and may result in a ban from our platform as well as the airport.
