All Black Car drivers must meet Lyft’s standard driver requirements for their region. In some cities, only Professional Black Car drivers who meet elevated document requirements are able to give Black rides or perform pickups at select airport zones.

Professional Black Car driver requirements overview
Professional Black Car drivers on the Lyft platform must meet the following criteria:
Note: Taxis and stretch limousines are not allowed on the Lyft platform.

Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:

California requirements
Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:
- Airport permit
- TCP Permit - Class A, B or P
- Driver must be listed as an owner/managing member of the TCP certificate holder entity

Colorado requirements
Denver:
Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:
- Certificate of Liability with a $500,000 minimum
- Colorado PUC Limited Regulation Carrier Permit
