All Black Car drivers must meet Lyft’s standard driver requirements for their region. In some cities, only Professional Black Car drivers who meet elevated document requirements are able to give Black rides or perform pickups at select airport zones.

Professional Black Car driver requirements overview
Professional Black Car drivers on the Lyft platform must meet the following criteria:
Note: Taxis and stretch limousines are not allowed on the Lyft platform.

Arizona requirements
Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:
- ADOT Vehicle For-Hire Permit
- Must include an expiration date
- Remaining documents will be reviewed after this document is approved
- Certificate of Liability
- Must be active (not expired) with a minimum combined single limit of $250,000
- Insured name must match ADOT Vehicle for Hire Permit

California requirements
Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:
- TCP Permit - Class A, B or P
- Driver must be listed as an owner or managing member of the TCP certificate holder entity
- Remaining documents will be reviewed after this document is approved
- Subcarrier Agreement
- The company name is required and must match the TCP Permit
- Commercial Registration
- Registered Owner’s Name must match TCP Permit
- TCP Airport Permit
- Must include an expiration date, San Diego exempt
- Certificate of Liability Insurance
- Must be active (not expired) with a minimum combined single limit of $750,00
- Insured name must match TCP Permit

- The Vehicle Equipment List and Drivers List must be provided from your CPUC Portal
- Workers Comp insurance
- Required for all vehicles that are part of a Fleet listed in the Partner Portal

Denver, Colorado requirements
Drivers must meet the standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to:
- Colorado PUC Limited Regulation Carrier Permit
- Must include an expiration date

- Must be active (not expired) with a minimum combined single limit of $500,000

- $100,000 bodily injury per person
- $300,000 bodily injury per accident
- $50,000 property damage per accident.
- Insured name or DBA (Doing Business Name) must match the Georgia Limousine Carrier Certificate Business Name or Owner’s name is listed.
- Subcarrier Agreement
- Commercial Registration (must include 'Limousine' as the classification)
- An eligible vehicle with Georgia limo plates
- Limousine Airport Decal (required for airport pickups)
Chicago, Illinois requirements
Drivers must meet all standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to providing or maintaining:
- City Chicago Vehicle Livery License
- Remaining documents will be reviewed after this document is approved
- Certificate of Liability: Current (non-expired) with a minimum combined single limit of $350,000 minimum

Indianapolis, Indiana requirements
Drivers must meet all standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to providing or maintaining:

- Certificate of Liability: A minimum combined single limit of $1,500,000

New Orleans, Louisiana requirements
Drivers must meet all standard requirements for being a Lyft driver in addition to providing or maintaining:

- Registration must include 'Limo' or 'Hire Pass' listed as use
- Must include an expiration date
- Remaining documents will be reviewed after this document is approved
- Certificate of Liability
- Must be active (not expired) with a minimum combined single limit of $510,000
- As an alternative, the following individual coverage limits will be accepted:
- $250,000 bodily injury per person
- $500,000 bodily injury per accident
- $10,000 property damage per accident
- Insured name must match the Commercial Registration
