Age restrictions for transporting minors
Safety is our top priority.
Unaccompanied minors are prohibited from traveling with most carriers, including rideshare companies. A rider must be 18 to sign up for a Lyft account, unless they're part of a Family Account as a Lyft Teen. Passengers that are part of a Family Account as a Lyft Teen must be 13-17. If a driver believes a passenger might be underage, the driver may ask the passenger to confirm their age.
The driver may also let a passenger know that the driver will have to cancel the trip if the passenger is indeed under 18, or under the age of 13 for Lyft Teen rides. Children 17 and under who are not part of a Family Account as a Lyft Teen are welcome to join with an 18+ year old rider in a ride, but they are not permitted to take a Lyft ride alone, even if requested by an adult. Guest riders ages 13-17 may ride with the Lyft Teen account holder, but they must have parent/guardian permission.
These terms apply across all Lyft products, including rides using Concierge. You can find more information in the Lyft Business Terms of Service.
