Scheduled rides for riders

When possible, you can plan ahead by scheduling a ride up to 30 days ahead of time. When you schedule a ride, you’ll specify your pickup time. We’ll send you a reminder before your pickup.
If you can't select the 'Schedule' option in the app, scheduled rides may not be available in your area.

Scheduling a ride
To schedule a ride:
  1. Set your destination, then tap the ‘Schedule’ calendar icon on the ride type selection screen.
  2. Choose a date and time, then tap 'next.'
You can also:
  1. Go to your Lyft app home screen and tap the calendar icon next to the address search bar.
  2. Choose a date and time, then tap 'Next.’
  3. Set your destination, then tap the ‘Schedule.’
Note: We can’t guarantee the availability of drivers in your area during your pickup window.
Editing or canceling a scheduled ride
To edit or cancel a scheduled ride:
  1. Tap the ‘Trip’ navigation bar at the bottom of the home screen.
  2. Tap ‘Details’ under the scheduled ride you want to cancel or edit.
You can cancel or edit your ride up to 1 hour before pickup.  A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel within 1 hour of pickup.
Lyft’s normal cancellation policy may apply if:
  • You cancel the ride after a driver has been matched.
  • The driver is on their way to pick you up.
  • The driver is scheduled to arrive within the designated pickup time.
On-time pickup promise
If you’re not picked up on time for a scheduled ride to the airport, you’ll automatically get Lyft Cash credit.
  • Get $20 Lyft Cash automatically if your driver hasn't arrived 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time.
  • Get $50 Lyft Cash automatically if you’re not matched with a driver 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time.
  • Get up to $50 more Lyft Cash if you’re not matched with a driver and you have to get a ride with another company, like Uber.
You can find your Lyft Cash credit in the Payments tab of your app.
To receive the Lyft Cash credit, you must:
  • Be in a region where the on-time pickup promise is available.
  • Not make any changes to your ride less than 1 hour before pickup.
My driver was late
If your driver was more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled pickup time, you'll automatically receive $20 of Lyft Cash.
You can find your Lyft Cash credit in the Payments tab of your app.
You can use Lyft Cash for any future ride in the USA. Lyft Cash won’t expire.
I wasn't matched with a driver
If you still weren’t matched with a driver 10 minutes after your scheduled pickup time, you’ll automatically receive $50 of Lyft Cash.
You can find your Lyft Cash credit in the Payments tab of your app.
You can use Lyft Cash for any future ride in the USA. Lyft Cash won’t expire.
I had to take alternate transportation
If you had to take alternate transportation that’s more than $50, you’re eligible to receive another Lyft Cash credit of up to $50.
Note: You’ll receive an additional credit for the portion of your alternate transportation that’s over $50. For example, if your alternate transportation cost $75, you’d receive $25 in additional Lyft Cash. You’d have a total of $75 in Lyft Cash.
To receive additional Lyft Cash:
  1. Tap ‘Contact us’ below.
  2. Submit the receipt for your alternate transportation.
Note: The maximum additional credit is $50.
To be eligible for the additional Lyft Cash credit, you must:
  • Take alternate transportation to the same airport on the same day after you cancel your Lyft ride.
  • Submit your receipt within 14 days.

The on-time pickup promise applies to rides to the airport when your pickup location and airport are in one of the following regions:
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Boston, MA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Denver, CO
  • Houston, TX
  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Miami, FL
  • New York City, NY
  • Orange County, CA
  • Orlando, FL
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Portland, Oregon
  • Salt Lake City, UT
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco Bay area
  • Washington DC
Terms
Our on-time pickup promise applies to scheduled rides to approved airport destinations in select regions between November 9, 2023 and February 26, 2024.
You’ll need to have completed at least 1 ride since opening your Lyft account. You’ll receive a notification in the Lyft app or via text message when your driver is approaching. The Lyft Terms of Service apply.
You can receive Lyft Cash credit for a maximum of 1 ride in a week and 2 rides in 30 days. The Lyft Cash Terms and Conditions apply.
