SFO TNC virtual queueing for drivers

SFO requires drivers to register for TNCvq, a virtual queue system. Registration is open now so drivers can sign up and be ready before the rest of the system launches. Here's how to sign up and what to expect.
What is TNCvq? TNCvq lets you request your place in the SFO staging lot queue remotely, instead of waiting in a physical line. You'll get a text when it's your turn to head to the airport. It works through your phone's browser and text messages — no separate app to download.
How to register
  1. Go to tncvq.sfo.gov on your phone's browser and create an account.
  2. Wait for an email from SFO confirming your registration is approved.
  3. Once approved, you're ready to use TNCvq.
How the queue will work
  1. Request a spot through the TNCvq portal when you're ready to head to the airport.
  2. You'll get a text when it's your turn. Confirm within 10 minutes or you'll lose your spot.
  3. Once you confirm, you have 40 minutes to arrive at the staging lot.
  4. A lot monitor will check your TNCvq status and driver profile when you arrive.
  5. Once you're in the lot, the usual SFO staging lot rules apply for getting matched with a ride.
Rules to know
  • You can only hold one active reservation per license plate at a time.
  • TNCvq operates from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
  • You can't request a new reservation while you're still in the staging lot.
FAQs
  • What happens if I miss the 10-minute confirmation window? You'll lose your reservation and need to request a new one.
  • What if I don't reach the staging lot within 40 minutes? You may lose your spot, so only confirm once you're ready to drive to the airport.
  • Do I need to download an app? No, TNCvq works through your phone's browser and text messages.
  • Will my Elite queue benefit still apply once TNCvq handles staging lot entry? Once you're in the staging lot, Elite drivers still get moved up 30 minutes in the queue. TNCvq only affects how you enter the staging lot - it doesn't change your position once you're inside.
  • After I drop off a passenger at the terminal, can I get another airport ride without going back to the staging lot? You may be automatically matched with another airport ride and skip the staging lot. If you're not matched right away, you might get invited to the Express Match Zone, a nearby area where you can wait for a new ride request without returning to the staging lot.
