Price lock
You can lock in a price for rides you frequently take from the same pickup and drop-off locations at a similar time of day.
Once you sign up and pay $2.99, you can secure the price of regular and scheduled rides during your chosen pickup time for the next 30 days. You’ll always pay your locked-in price or less as long as your price lock pass is valid. If the market rate is lower than your locked-in price at the time of request, you’ll pay the market rate.
You can reach up to $40 in savings per month per pass before having to pay the market rate. Your pass is automatically renewed every 30 days. Your locked-in price may vary each month.
Price lock is only available in Lyft-operated cities in the US.

Signing up
To sign up for a price lock pass, go to ‘Price lock’ in the side menu of the Lyft app, then:
- Confirm your pickup and drop-off locations.
- Select a one hour window each day for when the price lock pass is active.
- Check out.
Once you pay the $2.99 price lock fee, you’ll receive a locked-in price that will automatically apply to any standard or scheduled rides requested during your set 1 hour pickup window.
Note: The locked-in price may not appear until your selected request window.
How it works
When you request a ride, you’ll see your locked-in price. This price is calculated based on the historical average price of your route.
From the day you sign up, you’ll pay your locked-in price as long as your price lock pass is valid. The pass is valid until you reach $40 in savings each month.
If you’re being charged more than your locked-in price, your pass has either expired or you’ve reached the $40 maximum savings limit on that specific pass.
If you’ve reached the $40 maximum savings limit, you can choose to renew your pass early. When you do this, your pass will automatically renew a month from the day you renew early. The locked-in price for the pass may change.
Price lock can be used with other Lyft benefits and coupons. You can have up to 10 price lock passes at any given time.
Note: Using a price lock pass won’t affect how long it takes to get a ride.
Managing your price lock pass
You can manage any existing price lock passes and sign up for additional passes by going to ‘Price Lock’ in the side menu of the Lyft app. From there, go to any existing passes to view pass details and auto-renewal settings.
To sign up for additional price lock passes, select ‘Add a price lock pass’ and follow the prompts to create a new price lock pass.
Something wrong with your route?
Once purchased, a price lock pass can’t be edited. If you need to cancel your pass, select ‘Edit your price lock pass’ in the pass details page and cancel the price lock pass. You can then purchase a new pass with the correct information.
Note: Only passes that haven’t been used on rides are eligible for a refund.
Auto-renewal
Your price lock pass is automatically renewed every 30 days.
The fee will remain $2.99 per pass, but the locked-in price may change each month. We’ll send your new locked-in price per pass 7 days in advance. For example, you could pay the $2.99 monthly fee and a $15.49 locked-in price for the first month and the $2.99 monthly fee and $16.49 locked-in price for the second month.
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time by going to the ‘Price lock’ tab in the side menu, selecting the pass details page, and selecting 'cancel' next to the renewal date.
Once auto-renewal is canceled, the price lock pass can still be used until the specified expiration date.
