Lost & Found for Drivers

If a passenger accidentally leaves something in your vehicle, they can use the app to call (if an Android user) within 24 hours of the ride or have Lyft text you within 72 hours.

If a passenger calls searching for a lost item, the call will use a third party app to connect, so your passenger won’t see your number and you won’t see theirs.

If Lyft texts you because a passenger has reached out to our team, please attempt to contact the passenger using the phone number we provide.

Returning an item

Feel free to make arrangements to meet your passenger with the lost item. If you're unable to meet with the passenger, let our team know and we’ll make arrangements for you to ship the item free of charge.

If you find an item and the passenger doesn't contact you, go ahead and send us a message with the following information:

  • Item description
  • Any known information about the passenger and ride in which the item was left
  • Permission to give the passenger your phone number

Dropping off items at hubs

Drivers in Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., who are unable to make arrangements with the owners of found items can drop off items at our offices (New York drivers: read New York City Driving Requirements to see office location).
