How do I get my Amp?
To receive your Amp, you must complete 250 rides and be in a city where Amp is available. Once Amp has launched in your city and you've reached the Amp requirements, hold tight. We'll send you an invitation and instructions on how to receive your Amp as soon as it's ready.

After receiving your invitation, make sure you've confirmed your shipping address in the Lyft app. We'll keep you in the know about where it is on its journey to your doorstep, but you can expect it to arrive in about 2-3 weeks.

Why is Amp displaying on my screen when I don't have one?
Sometimes the app will show the Amp icon or instruct you to pair to an Amp, even if you don’t have one yet. Don't worry! You can still drive. This is a known issue and we're working hard on a solution.

If you've paired with an Amp before, the Amp is may display on your screen because your app is recognizing another driver’s Amp. Here’s a quick fix for drivers who have paired with Amp before:

  1. Tap ‘Settings’
  2. Tap ‘Amp’
  3. Tap ‘Amp won’t connect’
  4. Tap ‘Unpair.’ That’s it!

How do I pair my Amp?

  1. Tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Amp'
  3. Tap 'Pair my Amp.' Scroll down and look for the pair button. That's it!

On the ‘Settings’ tab, you’ll also find info on How the Amp works, Installing your Amp, and Troubleshooting tips.

How do I turn off the Amp?

Simply tap the off button once to power down your Amp. Holding down the power button will reset the Amp, which means you'll have to re-pair your Amp to your phone.

Holding down the power button for 10 seconds will trigger a hard reset for your Amp. Do this if you're having pertsistent pairing issues with your Amp.

When will Amp be available in my city?
At this time, we’ve only begun rolling out Amp in select cities. We’ll reach out to let you know when Amp is available in your city throughout 2017. 

Does Amp replace a required front emblem?
Yes, Amp is your new front emblem and will replace your front Lyft sticker. If Amp isn't available in your city yet or you're still working to meet the ride requirement, don't worry. You can still use your old emblem while giving rides.

Remember, many state and local regulations require you to display both your front and back emblems when you’re in driver mode. Learn more about your city’s regulations.

Why is it called Amp?
Amp is named after what it represents: an emblem to Amp-lify your ride experience and energize the Lyft community. We want you to be excited to display Amp on your dashboard — and for your passengers to be delighted, too.

Can I remove my Amp when I’m not in driver mode?
Yes, the base will stay connected to your dashboard but your Amp is easily removed and stored.

Will it fall off my dashboard when I drive?
Nope, Amp connects to the base using a strong magnetic bond that won’t move while you drive. The base sticks to your car with a special adhesive that won’t damage your dashboard.

Will the Amp base's adhesive damage my vehicle's dashboard?
Nope, we carefully reviewed dozens of adhesives before selecting one for the Amp. We chose this adhesive specifically because it doesn't leave damage on removal while staying strong enough to hold the Amp base to your dashboard.

To remove the adhesive, slowly pull the base off your dashboard.

How long will the battery last?
The battery lasts up to eight hours, and can charge in your car with a standard USB charging cable. Don’t have one? We got your back — charging cable is provided with every Amp.

We recommend keeping your Amp plugged in while giving rides to maximize the battery life.

Extreme temperatures such as high heat can affect the Amp's battery life. When the weather gets hot, you may want to turn up the air conditioning or keep the Amp in your center console until evening.

What do I do with my Glowstache?
For almost two years, the iconic Glowstache has brightened many a day and dashboard. But it's time to retire your trusty ‘stache. We hear it makes a great night light.

Can I change my Amp’s messages?
Because this Lyft device is designed for smoother, safer rides, you won’t be able to change the messages.

Note for Express Drive renters: Per your rental agreement, Amps should be returned with your Express Drive vehicle to avoid incurring a fee.
