    Luxury ride types for drivers

    Qualifying drivers with high-end vehicles can earn more with our Lux ride types:
    • Lyft Lux: High-end sedans or SUVs with leather interior and four seats
    • Lux Black: Premium black car service with leather interior and four seats
    • Lux Black XL: Premium SUV service with black exterior, leather interior, and space for up to six passengers

    How to get Lux ride requests

    Do you have a qualifying vehicle and a 4.85 driver rating? Here's how to get Lux ride requests.
    If you’d rather not receive Lux requests, follow the same steps below to opt out.
    Before you start, your qualifying vehicle must be set as your active vehicle. You can set your active vehicle in the ‘Your Vehicles’ tab under the 'Vehicle and Devices' section in your Lyft Driver app.
    How to opt in:
    1. Open the main menu, then tap 'Vehicles and Devices.'
    2. Tap 'Your Vehicles.'
    3. Tap 'Ride preferences.'
    4. Select the ride types you want. If you choose only Lux ride types, it may reduce the number of requests you receive.
    If you’ve opted to receive only Lux requests, you might still see standard ride requests in your app. Skipping these standard ride requests won’t affect your acceptance rate.
    You’ll only get requests for ride types that are available in your region. Visit our Cities page to check which types are available.

    Who qualifies for Lux rides

    Drivers must have at least a 4.85 driver rating to give Lux or Lux Black rides. If you’re a new driver, you’ll have to give standard Lyft or Lyft Shared rides until you have a 4.85 rating. If your rating falls below 4.85, you'll need to bring it back up with standard requests before you can get Lux rides.

    Your vehicle needs to be 2015 or newer to qualify for Lyft Lux.
    Note: The Lyft Lux vehicle model requirement is 2016 and newer in Houston, Texas.
