You can pay using Lyft gift cards on all Lyft rides in the U.S. You can redeem gift cards through Lyft Cash in your app, whether the gift card was bought digitally or in a retail location.
You can use Lyft gift cards on all Lyft rides. Lyft gift cards are only available to purchase in the US at this time.
Don’t add the gift card code to your account if you're saving the gift card for someone else – they aren’t transferable.
Gift cards are sent to the recipient by email. The email will include directions on how they can redeem it.
You can purchase up to five gift cards for a recipient within 24 hours. There is a $500 maximum for gift card purchases within those 24-hours.
How to buy a gift card in-store:
You can purchase Lyft gift cards in select retail stores, including:

Sender: When you choose to send a digital gift card to someone’s email address, we’ll email them a link that lets them apply the gift card to their account automatically. This email will also have a 16-digit gift card code, which they can enter in their Lyft app.
If they missed the email, you can go to lyft.com/gift/history to find the gift card code.
Recipient: If you have a retailer gift card or a digital gift card code, you can add it to your Lyft Cash balance by following these steps:
Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
Tap the Gift card icon.*
Enter the gift card code and PIN.
*If you don’t see the gift card icon, tap ‘Payment’ in the menu, then tap the Gift card icon.
Your gift card balance will show up under your Lyft Cash.
If you have a gift card and promo codes, you can select which combo you want to use before a ride, or up to 24 hours after a ride in the ‘Rate & Pay’ screen.
A default payment method in the Lyft app is required, even when you’re using a gift card. Your default card will be charged for any tips, some fees, or any ride where the cost is more than your gift card balance.

View your gift card balance
After you’ve added your gift card to your Lyft Cash:
Open the Lyft app.
Tap the ‘Payment’ tab.
Your Lyft Cash balance will be at the top.
We can't replace Lyft gift cards if they're lost or stolen, but we’re here to help. Send us the gift card code in the gift card purchase history on lyft.com/gift/history, and we'll see what happened.
If an email was not sent to the recipient after the gift card was purchased, double-check all email folders (including spam and trash).
If you still can’t find the email, go to lyft.com/gift/history and find the gift card code in the purchase history. Send us the code and we'll investigate.
Note: Retailer gift cards can't be tracked or replaced if lost or stolen.
