Lyft Cash is a payment method you can add to your account. You can check your balance through the ‘Payment’ tab of the Lyft app.
Lyft Cash can’t be used for all Lyft charges, such as lost & found fees, damage fees, and gift cards. Lyft Cash is not available in all regions. Lyft Cash is not available in Canada.
You can add Lyft Cash in the 'Payment' tab in the Lyft app’s menu. You can also set up automatic refills for Lyft Cash.
Tap ‘Payment’ in the main menu.
Under Lyft Cash, tap ‘Add cash.’
Changing your payment method
If you’d like to change your payment method, you can do so during ride selection.
Tap the 'Personal' or 'Business' at the bottom left side of the screen.
Choose your payment method.
Supported payment methods
To load up your Lyft Cash, you can use:
Commuter cards, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal aren’t supported at this time.
When you add money or a gift card to your Lyft Cash balance, it's ready to use immediately.
Your default payment method will be charged if your Lyft Cash balance doesn’t cover the full cost of a ride.
If you don't want to use Lyft Cash, you can turn it off in the 'Ride payment' section when requesting a ride.
Turning on Lyft Cash on your personal profile won't affect your business profile.
Digital gift cards are sent via email, and include a link to add the gift card to your account.
To manually add retail or a digital gift card codes to your Lyft Cash balance in the Lyft app:
Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
Tap the Gift card icon.*
Enter the gift card code and PIN.
*If you don’t see the gift card icon, tap ‘Payment’ in the menu, then tap the Gift card icon.

You can also purchase Lyft gift cards in select retail stores, including:

You can set up Auto refill to refill your Lyft Cash balance when it falls below $15.
To turn Auto refills on or off:
Tap ‘Payment’ in the app's main menu.
Tap ‘Auto refill’ under Lyft Cash.
