Taxis, stretch limousines, and certain subcompact vehicles will not be approved for use on the Lyft platform. Before applying to drive or moving to a new city, visit driver application requirements to find your new city or state and its minimum vehicle age requirement.
All Lyft vehicles are required to have 4 doors. Vehicles are required to have a minimum of 5 seatbelts (including the driver's), with a maximum of 8 seatbelts.

Rental vehicles must be rented through the Express Drive program to be approved for use on the Lyft platform.
In order to provide a comfortable rider experience, we don't accept certain subcompact vehicles on the Lyft platform:
Chevrolet: Aveo, Aveo5, Metro, Sonic, Volt
Kia: Rio, Rio 5-Door, Rio Cinco, Rio5
Mazda: Mazda 2
MINI: Cooper, Cooper Clubman, Cooper Countryman, Cooper Countryman Hybrid, Cooper Hardtop, Cooper S, Cooper S Clubman, Cooper S Countryman, Cooper S Countryman All4, Cooper S Countryman All4 Hybrid, Cooper S Countryman Hybrid, Cooper S Hardtop
If you were approved to drive with a subcompact vehicle prior to Feb. 25, 2019, you're able to continue driving with your existing subcompact vehicle. You won't be able to add a second subcompact vehicle or replace your existing vehicle with a different subcompact vehicle.
