If you change your phone number, don’t create a new account. Instead, update your old account with the instructions below. If you create a new account, you could lose account info (including your star rating and total ride count).
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone numbers aren’t compatible with the Lyft Platform. Contact your service provider if you aren't sure what type of phone number you have.
If you are already logged into the app:
Tap on your existing phone number
Type in your new phone number
Don’t forget to save!
If you created your account with a phone number, you can change it with our account recovery feature. If your email isn’t verified, you’ll need to pass a security challenge to recover your account.
To verify your email, visit the ‘Settings’ tab of your Lyft Driver app or Lyft app.
Open the app
Tap ‘Get Started’
Tap ‘Have an account and new number?’
Enter your new phone number
Wait for us to send you a verification code, then enter it
Enter your verified email address
Check your email and follow the instructions to recover your account
If you don’t have an email address saved to your account, use the ‘Contact Support’ button below.
If you’re logged into the app, go to the ‘Settings’ tab and tap on your email. Update your email address and tap ‘Save’.
