Queued Rides
You may get a new ride request while you’re giving a ride. This ride will be added to your queue, and you’ll complete the ride after you finish your current one.

How queued rides work
You can automatically get rides added to your queue to simplify your driving experience.
You’ll have a set amount of time to decline when you get a pre-matching ride request. After that time passes, the ride will be automatically accepted and added to your queue.
Note: Canceling an auto-accept ride after it’s added to your queue will negatively impact your acceptance rate.
To turn pre-matching rides on or off go to your Lyft Driver app, then:
- Select ‘Driving Options’ on your home screen.
- Select ‘Driving Preferences.’
- Select ‘Queued rides.’
- Select ‘Auto-accept’ or ‘Manual accept.’
Auto-accept is the default. If you select ‘Manual accept,’ you can choose to accept or decline queued ride requests within a brief notification window. After several seconds, the ride will be automatically declined.
How to indicate your last ride
If you don't want to accept any more rides:
- Swipe up on the bottom panel.
- Tap 'Ride requests on' to stop getting ride requests.
- If you change your mind, tap 'Ride requests off' to turn them back on again.
We won't add more rides after you drop off your last passenger and also sign you off.
Acceptance and cancel rates
Your acceptance rate will be positively impacted if you accept and complete ride requests.
Your acceptance rate will be negatively impacted if you decline rides, or cancel rides after accepting them, including manually accepted and auto-accepted queued rides.
Your cancel rate will also be impacted if you cancel rides after accepting them, including manually accepted and auto-accepted queued rides.
How to contact future passengers
The ride overview shows details of the next route’s queued passengers in addition to the current passenger’s drop-off. You'll see each requesting passenger's photo and see the option to call them.
Canceling a ride in your queue
To decline a queued ride while still in your current ride:
- Swipe up on the bottom panel.
- Tap ‘Decline.’
- Follow the prompts to cancel your upcoming ride.
Your acceptance rate will be negatively impacted if you cancel a ride after accepting it. This includes manually accepted and auto-accepted queued rides.
