Priority Mode
When Priority Mode is on, you’ll get more rides so you can stay busy when it’s slow. You’ll spend less time waiting between ride requests.
Turn Priority Mode on or off by selecting ‘Priority Mode’ on the home screen.
Note: In select regions, Priority Mode is only available for Gold, Platinum, and Elite drivers.

Using Priority Mode
You'll receive a set number of Priority Mode hours each week.
Select ‘Priority Mode’ on the home screen to check the number of hours you have left and when they reset each week.
The number of Priority Mode hours available can change from week to week, depending on how busy it is in your area.
Best practices
Priority Mode works best when it's less busy.
For best results, leave Priority Mode on instead of switching it on and off. You’ll get priority access to new requests as they become available.
Earning in Priority Mode
When you use Priority Mode, you’ll make slightly less per ride, but you’ll have more opportunities to earn. You'll be able to see the amount you'll earn for a ride before you accept it.
You can check Priority Mode rates in the Lyft Driver app at any time.
Viewing your Priority Mode earnings
You can compare your Priority Mode earnings to other drivers who didn’t use Priority Mode during a similar timeframe. You need to drive 1 hour or more per day in Priority Mode to see this comparison.
Open the Lyft Driver app, then select the ‘$’ on your home screen. You can see your total earnings under your Priority Mode summary.
Getting an earnings adjustment
Earning less in Priority Mode is rare. If you do earn less in Priority Mode, your earnings will be adjusted.
This adjustment will match what you would have earned for the previous day’s rides if you weren’t in Priority Mode.
You’ll be eligible for an adjustment any day that you've driven at least 1 hour in Priority Mode.
Availability
Priority Mode is only available for Standard rides. You can still get requests for other ride types, but you’ll only be prioritized for Standard rides.
With location filters turned on, there are fewer rides you can be matched with. This can cause more downtime, even in Priority Mode.
Limited spots for drivers
We limit how many drivers can use Priority Mode at the same time. This is to make sure drivers in Priority Mode get more ride requests.
If Priority Mode is unavailable, but you still have hours left, check back later.
Airport availability
Priority Mode is only available at select airports.
When Priority Mode isn’t available at an airport, it’ll automatically turn off when you enter the queue.
With location filters turned on, there are fewer rides you can be matched with. This can cause more downtime, even in Priority Mode.
