Getting verified
Most riders are automatically verified using their profile information. We'll try to verify you using the name and phone number already in your profile.
If the information can’t be validated, we’ll ask you to provide your legal name. We may also ask you to provide a photo ID as well.
If you don’t have a photo ID, you can also provide another form of identification like a utility bill or military ID.
To become a Verified Rider:
- In the Lyft Rider app, select your profile
- Select ‘View profile’
- Under account settings, tap ‘Your info’
- Select ‘Identity’ and follow the prompts required to have your account verified
Verified Guardian for Lyft Teen
To add teens to your Lyft Family and manage their ride settings, parents and guardians must be Verified Riders. Verification ensures only authorized adults can access teen accounts and ride information.
If you're not already verified, follow the steps above to complete the verification process.
Your privacy
Drivers will only see your:
- First name.
- Rating.
- Verification status.
- Profile picture (if you have one).
Drivers won’t be able to see this info again after 24 hours.
The info used to verify your identity will be protected, stored, and maintained as described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
