Collisions and accidents

What to do: Safety comes first. Are you and your passenger okay? Call 911Regardless of fault, report the accident via the Driver App Help Center or visit lft.to/accidentorcitation. So we can better assist you, have your driver's license ready, gather the insurance information of everyone involved, and make sure you take photos of all four sides of your vehicle to properly document any damage. If your vehicle needs to be towed, call 1-800-654-5060 for Hertz Roadside Assistance.

Your costs: You're responsible for rental fees until your rental reservation has ended, so it's important to report any incidents to us as soon as possible. Your rental deposit may be utilized to cover a portion of the deductible until a third-party is found at fault and funds are collected. Learn more about Express Drive insurance coverage.

Your account: Your driver account will be deactivated and you’ll be blocked from driving with Lyft until the accident investigation is completed. Lyft’s Trust and Safety team will contact you directly to discuss next steps.
